Have you ever wanted to create a super soft Nuno felted scarf? Nuno felting is different from other felting techniques. Polly Stirling, a fibre artist from New South Wales, Australia, developed it around 1992. The name is derived from the Japanese word "nuno" meaning cloth. The technique bonds loose fibres, usually wool, silk and other exotic fibres, into a sheer fabric, creating a lightweight felt. In this five-hour workshop, instructor Elena Pozdeeva will explain how to make a beautiful hand-felted scarf that you will wear with pride. Come with friends or come alone. New experience is necessary and all the supplies are provided.

Do you have an old piece of furniture tucked away in the corner of the cottage, boathouse or garage? Bring new life to that piece of furniture or home accessory using some of the newest and trendiest paints on the market. Let cottage style and lake landscapes inspire your creative explorations. Experiment with leaf prints, faux finishes, hand painting, fish and animal motifs, resists and finishing techniques. You will learn the tips and tricks of glazing for that sun soaked yellows of Provence and Tuscany feel, the cool white washes of shabby chic or the tea stained battered look of vintage charm with birch bark as an accessory. Chalk paints, milk paints and some of the new acrylics give a beautiful velvety finish and can be painted over old wood, metal and plastic. Bring a piece of furniture and turn it into a work of art. Old furniture and accessories usually do not have to be stripped or under painted.
