Collection: Alyssa Heather

About
Alyssa Heather is a multidisciplinary creative whose artistic practice sits at the intersection of movement, music, and colour. She paints exclusively to live recordings of the Grateful Dead, allowing rhythm and improvisation to influence gesture, composition, and colour. The music isn't simply part of the studio atmosphere, it is an active part of her process, shaping the movement and energy of each painting. Her work moves between recognizable forms and abstraction, drawing from nature, memory, and the psychedelic qualities of sound and colour. Layers are built, obscured, scraped back, and reworked until the painting finds its own rhythm. The result is expressive, immersive work that embraces both spontaneity and intention. Two of Alyssa's paintings were selected for inclusion in Music Art. Song Stories, The Grateful Project's publication celebrating artists inspired by the Grateful Dead. One of the selected works was featured on the book's cover. Her work is also represented in a public art installation in Innisfil through the Rotary Peace Pole initiative. Through Alyssa Heather Studios, she creates original paintings for collectors who are drawn to colour, movement, texture, and the unexpected.
