About
Christine Rottar Studio began from a lifelong journey to create and a deep fascination with colour and texture. I’ve always been drawn to the way thick oil paint moves across a canvas — how texture, layering, and bold pigment can transform a simple surface into something alive.Formally trained at the Milan Art Institute, I am an emerging artist still deepening my practice — and that feeling of being in the middle of something is part of what drives me. What keeps me painting is the challenge of solving a piece: working through uncertainty, building layers, stepping back, returning again. Inspired by walks through local flower farms and open landscapes, each painting evolves intuitively. The process is as important as the result — discovery, problem-solving, and expression all at once.In a world that moves quickly and often digitally, there is something grounding about a painting made slowly by hand. This is why I paint— to bring the feeling of beauty I experienced into the world and for others to enjoy!
