Collection: Laurie Rowe-Gregory

Hi, I’m Laurie, the maker and creative spirit behind Natural Stitch Designs. My journey began in 2022 while I was home from work because of Covid. I decided to make a rope bowl as a birthday gift for my mom, which quickly turned into making gifts for my daughters and daughters-in-laws. Their encouragement, is what helped launch this business. To this day, it is truly a family affair. My husband is my right hand at markets, handling the heavy lifting and setup, he also hand dyed the rope for me, while my children continue to inspire new ideas. We even have a special design created by our little granddaughter, who has her very own trivet in the collection! Every piece is handcrafted in my home studio in Shelburne using 100% pre-washed cotton rope and durable cotton-blend linings. I love experimenting with different aesthetics, from fabric-wrapped and hand-dyed designs to natural jute accents and minimalist, all-natural rope styles.

What We Offer: • Bowls, bun baskets, and large baskets • Rope trays, coasters, and our special trivets • Market bags

Because of the nature of the materials and techniques, each piece has a true artisan appeal. While some of our popular designs can be recreated, many are distinctly one-of-a-kind—just like the homes they end up in. Please stop by our booth to say hello, feel the textures, and see what we’ve been working on. We’d love to meet you!

The Muskoka Arts & Crafts (MA&C) Summer Show is one of Ontario’s oldest and largest rural outdoor events, serving as a key highlight of the summer season for both residents and visitors alike. This three-day event brings together over 200 of Canada’s most talented artisans, showcasing a diverse array of handcrafted art, from stunning sculptures and intricate jewelry to beautiful textiles and captivating paintings. With an estimated 10,000+ visitors each year, the show is a must-see cultural event in the heart of Muskoka.

As MAC’s largest yearly fundraiser, the Summer Show has a significant economic impact on the region, benefiting local businesses, galleries, and, of course, the artists themselves. The event provides a vital platform for creators to share their work with a wider audience, promoting local talent and strengthening Muskoka’s vibrant arts community. It’s not just a shopping experience; it’s a celebration of creativity, culture, and the spirit of collaboration that defines this stunning region.

In addition to the incredible artistry, the Summer Show also features live local music, entertainment, and an array of delicious food options, creating a vibrant atmosphere where visitors can engage with the arts in a lively and social setting.
