As a creative person I use many of my favourite techniques with fabric to make useful things, mostly using repurposed textiles. Energy, time, skill, resources and thought has already gone into these products and I try to use them to create something useful, modern, unique and new. Techniques I employ include rug hooking, punch needle, felting, weaving and sewing. Recently I have been working with reusing woven jute coffee bean sacks; remaking them into carrying bags embellished with recycled wool. I am enthralled with the properties of wool, It is a fantastic versatile natural fabric. I have made felted wool trivets, large crocheted baskets, rugs, lamp shades, clothing and jewellery.
