Collection: Susan Virginia Ware

About

Susan has had a love of the creative process from a very early age. She has a degree in Fine Art from Concordia University, a degree in education from the University of Toronto with a specialist in visual art education. Her love of the process informed her teaching career and her personal work. She enjoys working new ideas into a series. The subjects vary but the attention to detail in each piece runs through all of her work. The media also changes regularly from watercolour, acrylic, oils and felting. It is not uncommon to find her working on three different media and pieces at the same time. Variety of subject and media keeps the work fresh and the creative process sharp.

Damselfly Studio is her home base in Gravenhurst. The name is inspired by her love of insects. She has two children, a daughter who is an entomologist and a son who is an artist. Both have informed her work and provide opportunities for stimulating discussion. 

Susan has won numerous awards from gold medals to best in show. She is a member of a number of art organizations and her work is in collections across Canada, the USA, Great Britain, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.
