Birthday

Raven Patterson

The inspiration for my painting is a birthday party when I was a little kid. I chose this as my inspiration because I remember how birthdays used to feel so special when I was young. I was so happy when I got to blow out the candles. I had a hard time blending the yellow with the black because they are such opposite colours.  I'm happy with how the cake turned out, the raspberries went how I wanted. If I did it again I might change the background to something else.
