Join artist Sue Tait for a 3-hour introduction to alcohol inks. In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the vibrant, fluid qualities of alcohol ink—highly pigmented inks that flow and blend on non-porous surfaces to create luminous effects. Sue will demonstrate key techniques and lead a series of guided exercises that explore color movement, layering, and texture, helping students gain confidence with this dynamic and expressive medium. No prior experience is necessary and participants will leave with a finished painting ready to display in their home. 

Materials and tools will be provided.

As a colour enthusiast, Sue Tait works with alcohol ink, acrylic, and mixed media to explore the energy of colour, flow, and soul. Her paintings are shaped by the unseen currents of the natural world—the quiet strength of trees, the vastness of landscapes, and the radiant spirit of life energy that moves through all things. Rather than portraying trees and landscapes simply as subjects, she approaches them as living energy—vibrant, dynamic, and filled with presence. They are expressions of the spirit of nature itself, reminding viewers of the unseen connections that sustain and inspire. Sue has been applying her desire for healing energy as an art form to enhance the sensations people experience when standing in a forest, gazing across water, or pausing under an open sky: moments where they feel both grounded and expansive, attuned to the greater forces of life.
