These methods when practised will ultimately lead to the ability to do dynamic life drawing.

Neil Sternberg is a realist oil painter whose work is deeply rooted in the rural landscapes in which he lives. His paintings explore the ephemeral and transitory nature of his surroundings, while also connecting the landscape to a sense of personal nostalgia. Drawn to timeless subject matter that exists beyond contemporary trends and artifice, Sternberg searches for the emptiness and quiet that inhabit the soul of the North. He finds almost human qualities in the simplest elements of the landscape, using places such as desolate train stations as stages for exploring themes of spirituality, alienation, repression, and solitude. In his figurative work, Sternberg pursues the same underlying emotional resonance, seeking to convey a mood beneath the subject rather than simply depicting what is in front of him.
