In this hands-on sculpture workshop, we’ll bring some of Muskoka’s woodland creatures to life through clay! Using air-dry clay and sculpture tools, we’ll focus on creating a handmade bear while exploring shaping, layering and texture techniques to give each creature its own whimsical personality. Whether you’re an experienced artist or completely new to sculpture, this workshop is all about exploring the medium, learning new techniques and creating a woodland creature that is completely your own.
MATERIALS Provided but participants can bring their own sculpting tools if they have them.
Emma Lee Fleury is a multidisciplinary artist located in Muskoka, ON. She studied Sculpture & Fine Art at the University of the Fraser Valley, BC, and received her bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts at Brock University. The concepts of her work revolve around perceptions of the Earth, the Universe and the Abyss fused with theories about environmental issues as they pass though the human vessel in waves mixed mediums. Her landscape paintings, installations & sculpture works focus on representing the effects of climate change on the Earth and its inhabitants in efforts to raise environmental awareness and ignite change.
