Using Mont Marte air dry modelling clay, participants will learn the fundamentals of sculpting small character-based creatures inspired by woodland and wetland environments. The workshop focuses on form, texture, expression, and storytelling through sculpture, with an emphasis on layering techniques to create fur, smooth skin, or organic surfaces. Emma will guide participants through the process, sending everyone home with one or two completed sculptures, plus the knowledge to continue refining or creating more at home!
Materials and tools will be provided, but participants are also welcome to bring their own sculpting tools.
Emma Lee Fleury is a multidisciplinary artist located in Muskoka, ON. She studied Sculpture & Fine Art at the University of the Fraser Valley, BC, and received her bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts at Brock University. The concepts of her work revolve around perceptions of the Earth, the Universe and the Abyss fused with theories about environmental issues as they pass though the human vessel in waves mixed mediums. Her landscape paintings, installations & sculpture works focus on representing the effects of climate change on the Earth and its inhabitants in efforts to raise environmental awareness and ignite change. Environmental Activism through the universal languages of the arts.
