The phoenix is a legendary bird that bursts into flame upon death and is reborn from the ashes. The phoenix originates from Greek mythology and has turned into a symbol of hope, transformation, and rebirth. This artwork channels the story of the phoenix; it is meant to inspire the viewer. It allows the viewers to immerse themselves in the metaphor of second chances, and “one must burn before they shine.” Viewers should feel as though they are the phoenix, rising from their past faults and using their second chance to improve their lives. Not just for themselves but for the people around them as well. In the future, I want to not look at the past with regret but with pride for all I have accomplished.
