The lower half of the painting is dominated by a vast golden field, its warm, honeyed tones evoking a sense of abundance, growth, and promise. The encaustic medium creates the illusion of gentle ripples in the field, as though a breeze is sweeping across the tall grasses, bending them in waves. The wax adds a soft, luminous texture, catching the light in subtle ways, giving the field an almost ethereal glow. These glowing layers suggest both the warmth of sunlight and the resilience of a land that has been weathered but continues to thrive.  Above the field, the sky stretches wide and infinite, painted in a deep, rich blue reminiscent of the clear skies over a distant horizon. The wax creates a dynamic flow of color, with slight variations of blue that bring depth and life to the sky, making it feel as though it is shifting and breathing with a quiet energy. The soft texture of the encaustic allows the blue to gradually fade into lighter shades near the horizon, where the warmth of the golden field seems to meet the endless expanse of the sky.
