This 3 hour workshop will introduce practical strategies for photographing your artwork using the tools you already have, with a focus on creating clear, professional images for portfolios, applications, and online promotion. The session will begin with an overview of best practices for setting up the right conditions for photographing artwork, including lighting, backgrounds, and simple techniques to improve image quality. Participants will then have time to experiment with easy DIY studio setups and practice photographing work using their phones as cameras. The workshop will also cover basic editing principles and introduce a few accessible platforms and apps that can help you adjust colour, crop images, and prepare files for different uses.
After the session, participants will have the option to book appointments to photograph their own work at the Chapel Gallery with guided support, providing an opportunity to apply what they’ve learned with assistance.
