Many common expressions contain the word "key," like "the key to success," "under lock and key," "hold the key to .....," "the key to understanding," "the key to letting go," etc.
I love to paint objects, so I thought it would be fun to paint an old-fashioned key which could represent the original key that led to these expressions.
The key is set on a mottled background, and the painting is somewhat monochromatic, giving it an aged feel.
It asks the viewer - What could this be the key to?
