Student Artist Coaching Sessions with Miranda Britton

This 1-hour coaching session is designed for high school students who are interested in pursuing art academically or professionally. We’ll focus on clarifying your creative goals, exploring potential career paths in the arts, and identifying the skills and coursework needed to move forward with confidence. Whether you're considering art school or simply want to take your work more seriously, this session will help you understand your next steps.

You’ll receive personalized feedback on your current work (if available), practical guidance on building a strong portfolio, and actionable advice on classes, organizations, and extracurriculars that align with your interests. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a clearer direction and a concrete plan to grow as an artist.

  • Once booked, Miranda will contact you via email (usually within 48 hours) to schedule the coaching session.
  • Sessions will be held in person at MA&C on Main (or virtually) and will be booked at a time that works for the student (and parents if they'd like to join).
  • Junior Artist Members receive a discounted rate.
  • Students will receive detailed notes including links and resources via email following the session.

With over 20 years of experience as a professional artist and an extensive background in arts administration, community engagement, and education, Miranda brings a passion for supporting artists and building meaningful connections across creative communities. Having recently completed her Masters in Arts Leadership at Queen’s University, Miranda is excited to support local artists and makers.

Thanks to the generous support of McMaster's Muskoka Fine Foods, this service is offered FREE to MA&C Junior Artist members!
