River Rascal

This photograph of a river otter was taken on a trail in Algonquin Park. I had spotted a hole in the ice that looked intentionally carved. Figuring someone might emerge if I waited long enough, I sat down and kept my eyes fixed on this hole. Eventually, a river otter friend popped up to survey the area. After determining I wasn't a threat, it continued to pop up through this hole every so often, sometimes with a nice fish snack from below.
