In the present day we each carry with us traces of the past. As part of the universal human experience, each of us is born into a culture and comes from a legacy of culture. We have roots and history that we carry on in our lives. We can return to those roots to remember who we are. As humans we have both a physical (genetic) and psychological heritage that we carry with us into the present day. Each of us carries things that happened to us in the past, and for better or for worse our experiences make an
impact and an imprint on us. Finally, at the end of our lives we leave traces behind. While we are in this world for a short period of time, we leave behind the markers of our purpose here on earth.
