Water Dance

Water Dance is a micro mosaic that contains over 700 pieces of hand cut glass filiati pulled by me, each measuring only 3 mm in height. The piece is set in a 2.5” x 1.25”sterling silver bezel and is secured with a putty like substance called Roman Stucco, a recipe that has been in use for more than 300 years. I chose the common loon as a subject as it’s a true representation of the Canadian wilderness and the name Water Dance as that is what a flock of loons is often called.
