This painting is inspired by my childhood and the show Zoboomafoo. I wanted to show how much I loved that lemur, so I used watercolours for a messy jungle background and fine-liner pens for the details. I filled the lemur with Zentangle patterns like swirls and dots to give it texture. A big challenge was when I smudged the ink, but I fixed it by turning the smudge into part of the design. I really like how the bright background makes the detailed lemur stand out. It turned out great because it reminds me of being a kid while also showing off my art skills.
