43rd Annual

March 27, 28, 29, 2020

The Board of Directors for Muskoka Arts & Crafts has been closely monitoring reports from the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Cultural Industries, the Ministry of Health and the Town of Bracebridge for updates and directive regarding events and COVID-19.

Just a few days ago, the Board of Directors was optimistic that the 43rd Annual Spring Members’ Show could go ahead as planned with appropriate precautions. With events surrounding COVID-19 rapidly developing along with the obvious need for urgent steps to contain its spread, on March 13, Muskoka Arts & Crafts determined that it cannot move forward with the Spring Members’ Show as scheduled. This has been a tough decision because of the impact of this cancellation on the wider community that makes this event possible – our artists, visitors who come from within Muskoka and beyond, volunteers, business partners who sponsor some of the awards and many others who are involved with this show. Based on recent developments relating to COVID-19, the Board of Directors believes cancelling the Spring Members’ Show is the best option to ensure that we continue to provide an enjoyable and safe experience for all our artists, visitors, volunteers and staff. At the same time that this decision was made, the Town of Bracebridge simultaneously made the decision to close the Bracebridge Sportsplex, Arena and the Bracebridge Public Library until further notice, a ruling that Muskoka Arts & Crafts fully supports.

This is only the second time in 43 years that the Spring Members’ Show will not take place on its intended date. Muskoka Arts & Crafts appreciates all the hard work and preparation everyone has already put into this event. To all of our artists, visitors, partners and supporters, thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.

These are difficult times. Muskoka Arts & Crafts urges you to stay healthy and do whatever you can to help one another and to make this a better world.
