About

Kareen Hague is an experimental fine artist who works out of her home studio in Markham, ON. Kareen’s art captures the essence of realism with an impressionistic touch. She covers her canvas with paper and mediums creating an unexpected textural surface to capture the many layers of colour. Primarily self-taught, Kareen uses both traditional and non-traditional mark making tools to develop the background and layer in the details. Kareen draws inspiration from the graceful lines of birch trees, our many lakes, the charm of field flowers, and the vastness of roadside landscapes. Each piece invites the viewer to explore our world through a lens of imagination with a goal to ignite emotion and spark connections into the beauty that surrounds us
