Andrea Elmhirst

Felting artisan, Andrea Elmhirst, works to combine her love of Canada, the outdoors and her love of wool. Since 2010, Andrea has grown her art to include wet felting, needle felting and crocheting. Inspired by travelling and immersing herself in the Canadian north, preferably by canoe, Andrea creates one-of-a-kind felted pieces. Andrea credits her sister-in-law for teaching her how to create felt and she hasn’t looked back since. “I love how organic and natural it is to create felt cloth.” Working with wool is an opportunity to discover it’s versatile, practical and sustainable properties. Products I make include bags, coasters, table runners & placemats, tea/coffee cozies, trivets, Canadian flags, decorative pillows and wall hangings.
